What we Cannot carry in check-in baggage?

Can you pack batteries in checked luggage?

Usually, Airlines restrict passengers from carrying Lithium-based batteries in their checked bags during flight journeys. This is so because bringing the Lithium-ion batteries in the checked baggage has more chances of short-circuiting once it overheats at high altitudes. Once lithium-based batteries are explored on the flight, they may cause smoke, injuries, and other damage, which will put every passenger on the airline at risk. However, passengers can still carry non-Lithium-based batteries, including alkaline, Nickel metal hybrid, or Nickel Cadmium compounds.

 Is food allowed in checked baggage?

Yes, you can pack solid food items in checked baggage on any USA route as per the TSA guidelines for all renowned Airlines. However, you are advised to leave or avoid liquid or gel food items in checked baggage because they may easily leak. So, Airlines ask you to bring any liquid or gel eatable items only, not beyond 100 mL, and they must be placed in sealed transparent plastic.

What should be the allowable size and weight limit for checked baggage?

Airlines have peculiar size and weight limits for passengers depending on their class and routes. Usually, the allowable linear size limit for checked baggage should be a minimum of 62 inches, which includes the overall length, width, and height. Further, passengers checked baggage weight limit should be 23 Kg maximum for Economy or Premium Economy class and up to 32 Kg for Business and First class.

Does the Airline offer alcohol in the checked baggage?

Yes, most Airlines that offer luxurious facilities allow a maximum of 5L of alcohol in checked baggage. However, as per Airline policy, the permissible alcohol that passengers can carry in their baggage should be under the 24 % to 70% ABV limit. Moreover, if the alcohol content exceeds 70% ABV, the Airline will restrict it in checked baggage.
