How much luggage can I take on American Airlines for free?

You can carry one personal item like a purse or small handbag that must fit under the flight seat in front of you. As per the rule, dimensions must not exceed the dimension limit of 18 x 14 x 8 inches ( 45 x 35 x 20 cm ). The total dimension of the carry-on bag, including handles and wheels, must not be bigger than 22 x 14 x 9 inches ( 56 x 36 x 23 cm ) and should fit in the sizer located at the airport. 

According to American Airlines baggage rules, checked baggage of up to 10 bags is allowed on domestic, transatlantic, or transpacific flights through or from Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, and Brazil. The airline authority permitted checked baggage of up to 5 bags.  American Airlines allows passengers to carry up to 3 bags free of cost on flights operated by only this airline. This option is only for AAdvantage or Oneworld status.

How much does extra baggage cost per kg?

Airline charges for extra baggage depend on the number of checked bags. American Airlines' excess baggage fees are mentioned below. The fees have been described according to the region and number of bags. 

• If the region is the US, then bag 1 will be charged $40, bag 2 will be charged $45, bag 3 will be charged $150, and bag 4 will be charged $200. 
• If the region is Canada and Mexico, bag 1 will be charged 35$, bag 2 will be charged 45$, bag 3 will be charged 200$, and bag 4 will be charged 200$.

If the region is from the Caribbean ( except Cuba and Haiti), Central America ( except Panama), Guyana and surname, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and surname, Transatlantic, and Transpacific, then the charges are as follows.
